SYSTEMS FOR INSTALLING LVT’S

The increasing quality and variety of Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVTs) and their suitability for a wide range of settings has seen their appeal continue to grow.

Given customers’ high expectations for finished results, it is useful to know about steps that flooring contractors should follow and products to use to ensure a flawless finish when installing them.

For this reason, F. Ball has developed its ‘System LVT’ range, which comprises waterproof surface membranes, primers and levelling compounds.

Used correctly and in combination, System LVT products will guarantee an aesthetically pleasing, durable floor finish when installing LVTs.

PRIMING In most cases, the next step in the subfloor preparation process should be to prime the subfloor. When used over non-absorbent surfaces, such as epoxy waterproof surface membranes, primers promote adhesion between the subfloor and the levelling compound applied over it. Applied over absorbent subfloors, they also stop the unacceptably rapid drying of levelling compounds. Priming also prevents ‘pinholing’.

All our courses are led by experts from the company’s and include subfloor preparation and floorcovering in demonstrations and exercises using a range of F. Ball
