GET SET Mapei makes its mark with Mapecoat TNS system.
From spectator stand to arena, Mapei’s expansive range of adhesives, surfaces and coatings provides a complete technical solution for the sports sector. Many systems are designed to provide specific technical characteristics, whilst others – like Mapecoat TNS – offer a finishing solution for a variety of leisure environments.
Formulated from water-based acrylic resin, Mapei Mapecoat TNS is a multi- layered coating and finishing system. The range includes a solvent-free adhesion promoting primer and three individual coatings which each provide exceptional resistance to wear, weathering and UV-rays.
Recommended for application before each of the coatings, Mapecoat TNS Primer EPW is a two-component epoxy primer used in tandem with acrylic and polyurethane resins from Mapei’s TNS and PU ranges. It can be applied onto asphalt, cement, existing resin and resilient sports floors and prefabricated rubber elastic mats, and its solvent-free formulation promotes a safe application outside and indoors. The coatings include Mapecoat TNS Fast, Mapecoat TNS Extreme and Mapecoat TNS Finish 1.3.4.
A rapid film-forming colour coating that achieves an R13 slip resistant rating, Mapecoat TNS Fast is an acrylic water-based finish designed to protect surfaces from high footfall. In sports environments, it can be used to create cycle lanes and tracks, and to colour and protect spectator stands. It can also be applied onto bituminous conglomerate surfaces, ramps and within parking areas.
Two component water-based coloured top coat – Mapecoat TNS Extreme – is a rapid-drying protective coating for cementitious and bituminous substrates and pavers, tested according to EN 1504-2. Exceptionally durable, it forms a protective coating in car traffic and pedestrian areas, as well as cycle lanes, and provides a high level of skid resistance in all weathers. Mapecoat TNS Extreme is also available in a bespoke palette to reflect team or corporate colours.
The third TNS coating system – MAPECOAT TNS FINISH 1.3.4 – is formulated with selected fillers for indoor and outdoor tennis courts (certified by the International Tennis Federation) and multi-purpose playing surfaces, including basketball, volleyball and 5-a-side football pitches. It’s available in three court-pace categories – 1, 3 and 4 – for slow pace, medium pace and medium-fast pace activities, each providing perfect ball bounce and a secure directional change. The finish is available in 24 colours and bespoke shades.
