receipt of floorcoverings. Stopgap 300 is a fast-drying self-levelling smoothing compound suitable for use over a range of sound absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors and is designed for use in areas subject to light to heavy-duty traffic. It is also walk-on hard in 90 minutes and can be ready to receive floorcoverings in just six hours. The product’s high compressive strength and excellent self-levelling properties help create a flawless finish when installing LVTs, while ensuring a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing floor finish even when subject to high levels of wear.
F. Ball’s Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS was then used to adhere LVTs. The temperature tolerant adhesive is designed to secure a wide range of plasticised PVC and rubber floorcoverings in both sheet and tile form in heavily glazed areas such as conservatories where solar gain can result in extreme temperatures and temperature changes (from -20C and up to +60C). This causes floorcoverings to expand and contract significantly, potentially leading to tenting and gapping at the edges of LVTs over time if a temperature tolerant adhesive is not used.
Styccobond F49 develops the ultra-high bond strength to hold floorcoverings firmly in place when exposed to these temperature fluctuations.
Products from F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s System LVT range, including its Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS temperature tolerant pressure sensitive vinyl adhesive, have been used to deliver a high quality, long-lasting LVT finish in a residential property in Merseyside.

Eclipse Flooring were contracted to refurbish the flooring in the conservatory, dining room and living room of the property, covering a total area of approximately 35m². The area was heavily glazed, meaning that the flooring would be subjected to direct sunlight and fluctuations in temperature.
Contractors from Eclipse Flooring first removed the existing carpet and then applied Stopgap P131 primer over the concrete subfloor. Stopgap P131 is a general-purpose primer that has been designed to promote the adhesion of Stopgap smoothing compounds and to prevent the unacceptably rapid drying of subsequently applied adhesives and smoothing compounds. Coloured green to provide visual control of product coverage, the product has a drying time of less than 60 minutes and can be applied over a range of absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors.
Once the primer had dried, contractors applied Stopgap 300 smoothing compound to create a smooth, durable surface for the
