Manufactured and stocked in the UK, Forbo’s new Tessera Workspace Collection consists of 24 designs, from three different Tessera ranges: Cloudscape, Inline and Layout. Inspired by constantly changing cloud formations, Cloudscape allows the creation of light, fresh and airy spaces; Inline has a rich, differential linear texture; and Layout has been included to add a pop of colour to flooring schemes.
In addition to the contemporary designs available, the Tessera Workspace Collection is also readily available, with deliveries in a week or less. This proposition has been developed to help contractors and fit-out companies to complete projects that have tight timescales – it’s especially ideal for office
MAPEI OVERCOMES ARCHAEOLOGICAL
CHALLENGES Mapei & Middlesex Flooring recently completed a surface project at The Westin London City, the brand’s first Westin Hotels & Resorts in the UK and part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio. Designed by Architects Dexter Moren Associates, The Westin London City is a five-star hotel offering guests a sanctuary to escape from city life. The hotel features 222 luxurious guest rooms and a range of brand signature facilities. Mapei and Middlesex Flooring worked together to complete the resilient and carpet installation throughout all corridors and walkways, for main contractor Vascroft Contractors.
Situated opposite the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, on the North Bank of the River Thames, the 10-storey Westin London City is on the site of the redeveloped Queensbridge House Hotel. The construction site included three plots of land separated by active roads, with a bridged section of the building crossing multiple lanes

environments where downtime needs to be minimised as much as possible.
Ellen Reith, office segment manager at Forbo Flooring Systems, commented: “We’ve noticed that commercial spaces, in particular offices, are now wanting refurbishments to be completed quickly, which means more pressure is being placed on flooring contractors and fit-out companies to source products promptly. As such, we have curated our new Tessera Workspace Collection and its delivery proposition as solution to help our customers overcome this growing challenge.
“All of the carpet tiles within our new collection can also be installed alongside our Allura Flex Luxury Vinyl Tiles for a seamless transition and
of busy vehicle traffic. Works included creating a public walkway on the north side of the river and demolishing and transforming an existing office building. Vascroft Contractors’ project team overcame a multitude of challenges – from the preservation of Roman archaeological ruins, to innovative methods of construction to create the interior designer’s vision – in order to deliver the impeccably designed hotel.
During the project, Mapei assisted with regular site visits and moisture testing, while Middlesex Flooring invested in specific FITA training for its floor laying team. The Mapei specification included a full Resilient System:
