One of those steps has been to encourage those who cannot work from home to get back to work safely. With a wide range of working environments to consider, what does that mean for flooring contractors, who are regularly required to enter and work inside other people’s homes?
Whether you’re an employer, employee or self-employed it is important to consider the steps you will take to minimise risk when you return to work. The following advice can be used as a guide to returning to work safely.
CONDUCT A RISK ASSESSMENT Assess the situation so that you understand the risks and do everything reasonably practicable to minimise risk.

PEOPLE’S HOMES Whenever possible, prepare anything that can be done remotely ahead of time, and utilise quick-install products reducing the amount of time needed in the home.
DISINFECT Maintain a clean working environment by disinfecting on arrival, disinfecting on departure and washing hands regularly whilst working.
