CONTENTS
Welcome
As we settle into 2024, International Mining Engineer has a fresh design and a brand new editor, myself, Siobhan Doyle. I look forward to bringing you insightful and engaging engineering content from every corner of the mining industry. The cover story for my
inaugural issue as editor is about Scottish haulers put to work close to a famous Canadian mountain range (pages 18-19). This issue also focuses on how the industry can prevent power outages at aggregate and mining facilities (pages 8-10). Further into the issue, we
shed light on a success story around new bushings for LHD machines at a copper producer (page 20). And following up on our story about preventing power outages, we look at a case study on a hybrid networking solution making waves at the Copper Mountain Mine in British Columbia (pages 24-25). Elsewhere, readers can delve
into the world of advanced water clarifiers helping to create easy- to-handle solids at sites (pages 28-29). And in our safety section, I write about the latest garment innovations helping to improve miner safety (pages 36-38). You will also find our usual
events preview – this time with the PDAC 2024 Convention in Toronto, Canada... The country is certainly making its rounds throughout this issue.
Happy reading!
