Advanced mass photometer introduced
Refeyn has launched the TwoMP Auto mass photometer, a novel instrument for the automatic loading and analysis of biomolecular samples for protein characterisation at the single-molecule level. It provides researchers with automated direct mass measurements of up to 14 samples in one hour using the sensitivity and simplicity of mass photometry – Refeyn’s novel molecular mass measurement technology. The introduction of the TwoMP Auto closely follows the launch
of Refeyn’s SamuxMP benchtop mass photometer for AAV analysis, continuing the company’s momentum
New high mass analysis solution
Hiden Analytical is developing instruments for a new era of cluster analysis and implementation of nanoscale particles. The Hiden Cluster Series is a series of quadrupole MS systems and components developed specifically for high mass analysis that the analysis of nanoparticles requires.
Systems include the 9mm
EPIC system, as well as the 20mm DLS-20 system, for analysis of species up to 20,000amu. Components include 9mm and 20mm pole diameter quadrupole assemblies with high- power RF operating at optimum frequency to
accommodate high mass transmission required in cluster analysis.
Novel imaging platform launched
Leica Microsystems has launched Mica, what it describes as the world’s first microhub. A microhub is a new type of wholly integrated imaging solution that leverages machine learning software, automation tools and unique fluorescence unmixing techniques to automate the imaging workflow for researchers, regardless of their microscopy experience levels. “Research paradigms are constantly
evolving, as we have seen with the recent evolution of single cell and
transcriptomics. The next frontier is about essentially putting this dissociated information into spatial context, as location is critical to understanding biological mechanisms. The trend is driving more researchers to use complex imaging. We have built Mica for these researchers, who need to focus more on their biology than the specialism of microscopy,” says James O’Brien at Leica Microsystems. “The microhub era will supercharge the microscopy experience for everyone.”
in product innovations based on mass photometry. The TwoMP Auto represents a shift in protein characterisation workflows, enabling scientists to save time and effort through autonomous label-free analysis of biomolecules in solution with minimal sample consumption. Applications of the technology range from purity assessments to interaction analyses. The automation simplifies workflows such as titrations and screening assays, which can be run without operator
input, freeing up valuable time and minimising the chance of human error.
BIORECTOR FOR LABS
IKA-Works is bringing a new bioreactor into the market. Habitat enables the reproducible and standardised cultivation of a wide variety of cell types. It is a bioreactor, photobioreactor and fermenter in one and sets new standards with its ergonomic and efficient operation. Whether mixing, temperature
control, automation, safety or design – this new bioreactor combines all of IKA’s core competencies and yet is a true innovation. With Habitat, IKA launches its first own bioreactor – with the aim to significantly improve the device and its handling.
