Currently he operates his own consulting firm IBD-International Business Development, strategically supporting companies in their international expansion. He is a long-term member of VDI (Association of German Engineers), has been associated with the International Centre for Sustainable Carbon (ICSC, UK), and also serves as member of the Advisory Board of the Powerplant Technology Conference of University Dresden, Germany. He has published a large number of papers on environmental monitoring and on combustion technology issues and is an experienced speaker on international conferences and workshops.

Fawaz AlSahan is Senior Engineering Consultant, IIoT Leader and Chairman of Instrumentation Standards in Saudi Aramco. Fawaz is a member of ISA content steering committee, board member and past president of ISA Saudi. Fawaz is a voting member of many standards technical committees in ISO, UL, IOGP, NAMUR and SASO with more than 26 years of experience in design, digitalization, projects, technical support, reliability and maintenance of process instrumentation and process automation systems. Fawaz is a certified Engineering Consultant (SCE) and a Certified Automation Professional and received more than nine excellence awards at national and international level including “The King Award for Inventors and Gifted”. Fawaz has five granted patents, author and co-author of many papers and handbooks and he teaches multiple technical courses. Fawaz has chaired and contributed to many national and regional technical events.

Since 2012, he has driven DURAG GROUP’s regional growth across Middle East & Africa, leading major projects in Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and gas analysis. A well-known expert and ISA conference speaker, he is valued for his expertise in regulatory compliance and sustainability. Abbad continues to advance industry innovation, championing impactful emissions and environmental solutions in the Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, English, and German, he bridges cultural divides to foster impactful collaboration across regions.

Dr. Elmie Grey is an experienced environmental advisor and consultant, active in Saudi Arabia since 2019. She specializes in air quality monitoring and petrochemical emissions, with a proven track record in sampling, monitoring and analyzing air data.


Dr. Grey’s expertise in environmental management is currently being applied to reviewing environmental legislation for NEOM. Her extensive knowledge and skills make her a valuable asset in the field of environmental and air quality.
