FAQs

Our guests come from all walks of life. We cannot promise that you will find your soulmate, but you will meet interesting people and enjoy good company. We hope the answers to these Frequently Asked Questions are helpful, but don’t hesitate to call us with any other questions.

What age groups do you have?

Most guests are between 40 and 70 years old, and every group is mixed.

How many people in a group? It depends which holiday you choose. The average group size is a dozen. Houseparty hotels can accommodate 12-16 people; escorted tours in Kenya are capped at eight due to vehicle size. BodyHoliday in St Lucia is not a group holiday. Our guests join this single-friendly hotel on any departure date. Ask the office if you want to know more.

What is included in the price?

The first thing is that you have your own room, with no single supplement to pay. For other inclusions, please read the individual holiday description. Prices are only a guide and vary greatly by departure date, airport and when you book. Our website provides live prices via the holiday search after you select where you wish to fly from. Book early for the lowest prices.

What happens on a typical day?

That depends which style of holiday you choose – structured or laid back. Common to all is the evening meal, when we come together around one or two large tables to dine well, swap stories and plan the next day.

Can I fly from my local airport?

Most prices are based on a Gatwick departure, but if there’s a flight from your local airport, we can book it for you. Regional flights are sometimes more expensive, but you probably save on parking/taxi and overnight hotel costs.

If you want to book your own flights, we charge a £30 administration fee and may charge extra if your arrival/departure doesn’t dovetail with our group transfer times. Please read our Booking Conditions before you book.

How do I get to the hotel?

It’s all part of our service on overseas holidays with meet-and-greet and transfers included. On a UK break, you get yourself there. Ask for directions and public transport options.

“Helpful and friendly team. Very helpful and easy to book.” Carole, Shepton Mallet

What happens at mealtimes?

Breakfast is fairly flexible, to suit early/late risers. Lunch is rarely included because people ‘do their own thing’during the day, but we always get together for a sociable evening meal.

The number of included dinners varies, but on nights when dinner is not included in the package, your Host will suggest a local restaurant to suit the group.

What sort of food is on offer?

We usually provide continental breakfast, and our included dinners are usually a set 3-course menu with water and half a bottle of wine per person.

If you’re vegetarian, vegan, coeliac or have food allergies, please contact us well in advance so we can talk about your needs.

Can I pay a little at a time?

After you have paid a deposit, you can pay off the balance a little each month, using the ‘Manage My Booking’ function on our website.

Can I book online?

Almost all holidays can be booked online. Our website shows up-to-date room and flight availability and prices. A few destinations – like Kenya – still need to be booked over the phone.

Will I find my soulmate?

Several friendships forged on holiday have turned into long-term relationships and even marriages. But we are not a dating agency – just a friendly travel company for single people.

We aim to balance the sexes for ‘group dynamics’, but women are more confident about travelling alone, and so tend to outnumber men.
