he team at a new £3m de- pot opened by Grimme UK are celebrating after sup-
plying the company’s 2000th de- stoner to one of the country’s lead- ing vegetable growers.

arator was sold to MH Poskitt of Goole, which grows, washes, packs, and distributes carrots, potatoes, swedes, parsnips and pumpkins for supermarkets. It will use the de-stoner on its York- shire farms. “We have some very stony and
cloddy fields in Yorkshire, so want- ed a machine that could perform well,” said farm manager James Bramley. “We already own six Grimme de-stoners and they nev- er let us down.”
The CS 150 Combi-Star fea- tures a mix of star rollers and main webs to deliver stone and clod separation. Manufactured in Germany, it was pre-inspected and customising to MH Poskitt’s requirements at Grimme’s new Market Weighton depot.

The Combi-Star offers 25%
more sieving capacity than tra- ditional systems due to the highly efficient and powerful patented RotaPower shaft, says Grimme. This crumbles the compacted soil and in turn prepares it for increased sieving. The RotaPower shaft signifi- cantly reduces the wear and tear of the star rollers and main web. Grimme has also incorporated a robust V-belt drive into the CS 150 Combi-Star to ensure low main- tenance costs.
