New BIFA National Chair and Vice-Chair


At the virtual BIFA Annual General Meeting, held on 27 May, Rachel Morley was elected as National Chair. Rachel is regional manager Western Europe for OIA and she joined the BIFA Board in 2017. Rachel will serve a two-year term as Chair, taking


over from John Stubbings of Woodland Group who becomes immediate vice-Chair. To complete the governance changes, Charles Hogg,


commercial director of Unsworth, has been elected as Vice-Chair.


CDS eLearning course – coming soon…


In preparation for the full introduction of HMRC’s Customs Declaration Service (CDS) for Customs entries, BIFA and ASM have been working for several months to develop an eLearning course that should be available to book by the beginning of August. The eLearning course will be


structured into eight modules: 1. Overview of CDS; 2. Data elements (DE) and data groups;


3. UK Trade Tariff and CPCs;

4. Commercial arrangements, Incoterms and valuation;


5.Methods of payment, guarantees and authorisations;


6. Document indicators and waiver codes (DE 2/3);
