ORCHA News

Well, June is another disappointing month

for horse shows! By the health guidelines, we are not allowed to have more than 10 people in a gath- ering so the ORCHA directors have decided to can- cel the June show. Sorry, but we do not want to be responsible for an outbreak! It seems like there are many interpretations of these rules which leaves things very ambiguous. We have chosen to stick by the current health regulations. So stay safe and use some of that old common sense.

ontarioxtremecowboy.ca The OXC board continues to

meet monthly online, discussing fu- ture events and navigating the best way to keep our membership safe and back to racing as soon as we can. The long anticipated show season for OXC was to have started in May, however with the on-going Provincial lock- down measures in place, the OXC board has postponed our May and June race dates. Also due to an un- known race season, for 2021 the OXC board has approved competing at one regular OXC sanctioned race to be the requirement for eligibility to compete at this year’s OXC Provincial Finals in October 2021. Please keep a close eye on the OXC website under the EVENTS tab for the most current list of events and announcements of our first official races for 2021. In 2020, the

OXC Youth Direc- tor Josie Rowling, took the initiative to create a monthly skills challenge for our membership. These challenges are free to enter for all current OXC members. There is a new challenge each month to test your skills and a prize from one of our wonderful support- ers to win. Descrip- tion of the challenge and rules can be found on our web- site under

forward to seeing all these beautiful and custom designed OXC scarves on our riders. OXC was also proud to have

Palomino Jewelry design and donate a custom OXC scarf slide to one lucky OXC member in our Members Only Give Away this May! All current 2021 OXC members automatically quali- fied for the draw to win the custom de- signed scarf slide. You can check out some of their other custom work at www.palominojew- ellery.com.
