making what could be – for some – a nerve- racking time, as pleasant as possible. She is looking at implementing a more modern online assessment portal and other improvement initiatives later this summer.
Unlike the others, Nezda has no experience in the industry, but I am sure we will slot her in on a course or two! Interests: Loves travelling and has also lived in Spain and Australia.
Graeme, Claire, Liz and Nezda are only a part of the training team but the ones that delegates are likely to meet. Behind the scenes there are several other colleagues who all play an important role in administration and delivery. From scheduling, taking bookings, marking,
disruption to all BIFA training programmes. Some courses were halted midway while many others were cancelled. With no return to classroom training on the horizon we had to re- adjust to a different way of working and after six to eight weeks of planning, we re-started delivering our courses online via Zoom at the end of May with live trainers. Our aim was to replicate the in-person
sessions as best as possible, keeping things interactive to maintain delegate engagement. This transition has brought about some positive changes, learning new skillsets, recruiting extra staff, and providing more reach and accessibility for our courses. A month later we received approval from the
awarding body to re-start our BTEC courses in this format and the fourth member of the team joined us to support with this.
June 2021 Nezda Leigh
Nezda does not deliver training, but anyone that has started a BTEC course since June 2020, will have met her. Nezda is the latest addition to the team and facilitates all the BTEC assessments via Zoom once the delegates have completed their four days’ training.
Nezda joined the team at the end of summer 2020 as a contractor and has now joined the company as a valuable part of the training support team.
In the crazy world we are all living in these days, neither myself nor any of the team have met Nezda in person, other than via Zoom or TEAMs.
The biggest compliment I can pay her is that we feel like we have known her for ages. She does a great job organising all the assessments, making delegates feel at ease and
producing training materials, quality assurance and policy support keeping trainers up to date with the latest legislation, they all make a valuable contribution to the overall experience. It is important that the trainers keep their own
skills sharp and recently we had a couple of days with the CIPD. Taking time out for their own professional development is something which I think is very important. As I have said, we receive lovely comments every week and are always looking at modernising and making BIFA training the most engaging in the industry. This is part of our mission and, quietly and confidently, we think we do a good job at it.
