Work in pairs. Read how Lindi planned to achieve her goal in the case study on page 12, and discuss the following with your partner: 1 What ability does Lindi have? 2.1 What is Lindi’s goal? 2.2 Is her goal written positively? Why is this important? 3 Is Lindi self-motivated to achieve her goal? Give a reason for your answer.

Lindi’s special ability was singing. Many of you may be good at music or art or in a certain subject and want to improve like she did. Other learners may be talented in a certain sport. Or their strength may be in helping other people. Whatever your abilities and strengths are, you can develop your personal potential through planning and setting goals.
