Acts 1:5, 8, Luke records again the promise of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. This promise was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, which is fifty days from Easter (Acts 2). This Promise of the Holy Spirit was not only for the disciples who walked with Jesus when He was on His earthly ministry but Peter said: “The promise is for you (present people then) and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:39). The promise is for us all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. You and I are candidates to receive this promise. The Holy Spirit is a Gift to all believers as we all need His help to follow Jesus. Jesus said: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate or comforter to help you and be with you forever - the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:16-17). The Gift has already been sent to us; we need to recognise that promise and gift and start to co-operate with the Holy Spirit as we follow the footsteps of Jesus.


We celebrate Pentecost as we remember the sending of


the promise of the Holy Spirit and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-13). I desire us to move away from just commemorating the day of Pentecost, but to walk in the promise experiencing the Holy Spirit. My desire is for all believers to experience living with the Holy Spirit working in us and working with us on a daily basis. We need to intentionally recognise the presence of the Holy Spirit in
