skills helps to stimulate all our senses and in this case look for recycling opportunities.

Cot bumpers as recycled bags for baby accessories. Cot bumpers make great bags for storing toys or spare bedding as the padding provides sturdy sides. We don’t give out cot bumpers but families do need useful bags for bedding and toys.

To make a recycled bag You will need - A cot bumper and a square of fabric. What to do: 1. Fold the bumper into half. Then again. It is now in quarters. 2. Measure the bottom edge of the folded cot bumper. Use this measurement to cut your fabric square (add seem allowance) for the base. 3. Hem the square. 4. You can now sew the fabric square along the bottom of the cot bumper, turning the square as you arrive at each corner. 5. If you want a bit of help to assist in keeping even spacing along the whole bumper try pinning the first side of the square as a guide. You should end up with a box that has one open corner. It doesn’t matter if they are slightly not the same length. Sew together the open corner to complete the box shape. 6. To make handles you can use the original cot bumper ties if they are at equal corners or sides or attach tape/ribbon for handles.
