DINING OUT FOR LIFE The San Diego LGBT Community Center will present a
reinvented Dining Out for Life San Diego event for 2021. As San Diegans continue to unite to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dining Out for Life San Diego will focus on providing extra support for its participating restaurants while also raising vital money for HIV services and prevention efforts at The Center. This year, the event will take place over four consecutive days from Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, May 2. Lengthening the event will help participating locations, operating at a reduced capacity due to safety protocols, to maximize opportunities for community participation. Make plans for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee or cocktails at one (or more) of the dozens of restaurants, bars, coffeehouses and nightclubs coming together to “Dine Out and Fight AIDS.”

In addition, you can support the center through a silent auction beginning Wednesday, April 28, and a live auction on Saturday, May 1. It truly wouldn’t be an Indigo Ball without recognizing some outstanding leaders in the LGBTQ community. The 2021 Torchbearer Honorees are Lorri L. Jean and Dr. Christopher Ried. Jean is nationally recognized as one of the LGBT move- ment’s most effective leaders. For most of the past 28 years, Jean has served as CEO of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the world’s largest LGBT organization. Ried is the medical director of HIV/STD services for the Orange County Health Care Agency and the STD Controller for Orange County. Live entertainment for the virtual Indigo Ball and 50th
anniversary celebration includes host and auctioneer Zachary Krone and a performance by MenAlive, Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus.

“PSGMC has been hard at work in their virtual performances highlighting two crucial elements, their love of singing and coming together as a musical family. We are ecstatic to have Ann Hampton Callaway in the Easter program, as she wrote ‘What If Love Is All We Have’ for Quiet No More, a piece the chorus sang at Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Hall in 2019 as part of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising,” PSGMC Artistic Director Douglas Wilson said.
