LIVE 24-SEVEN - COMMENT WELCOME EDITOR

TO OUR A P R I L MAGA Z INE

Welcome to the April edition of your Live 24-Seven magazine. I can hardly believe we are already well into spring. The weeks and months certainly seem to blend into one during lockdown but hopefully we are all emerging from these difficult times now.

Later this month our lovely retailers will be opening their shops again and for those happy to sit outside, we can make our first tentative visits to our local pubs and restaurants. I think we are all looking forward to that and I am sure those running these places will be extremely glad of all of our support.

Promoters of live events are also hopeful that all of their shows can now go ahead and one of those we feature this month is a fabulous family show, the Billionaire Boy’s Car Park Party, courtesy of celebrated children’s author David Walliams who gives us his thoughts on this latest production of his work.

April is a special month for foodies – especially in our region – as it is the start of the very short, but sweet, asparagus season. Officially kicking off on St George’s Day on April 23, we have just eight weeks to properly enjoy the home grown stuff. Personally I can’t wait!

This month we also introduce our new recipe columnist Elley Westbrook who shares a delicious recipe for a very popular pud.

The other thing everyone is talking about of course is holidays. Whilst we might not be able to travel abroad just yet, there’s certainly no harm in dreaming and maybe planning a future break. This month we look at wine tourism and bring you five wonderful vineyards where you can vacation. Sounds perfect to me.

We always love hearing from our readers who might like to be featured in the magazine. If you have an interesting hobby, have something to celebrate or an achievement you’d like to share please send me an email and let me know.

Enjoy the spring, stay safe and see you next month. Sally-ann
