PORTUGAL’S ALGARVE WINE AND ART COMBINE

Portugal’s Algarve region has a long tradition of wine making and Quinta dos Vales has a unique concept incorporating an excellent vineyard that specializes in quality wine for the connoisseur and art and sculptures for the art lover. In several garden locations you will find an exhibition of well over 100 sculptures in different styles, materials and sizes, some up to 6.5 m in height.

New this year is the ‘Wine Makers’ Experience where wine- lovers have the chance to authentically make their own wine, without having to dedicate 10 years of their lives and invest millions into the endeavour. It is ideal for someone who has a passion for wine and wants to not just put his name on a bottle but also take every single decision in the winemaking process. They offer four different versions from an introductory teaser (Bottle Blending Workshop) all the way to the full experience (Own a Vineyard).

It is a hands-on project, which aims to turn wine-lovers into genuine wine-makers, each with their own privately owned vineyard.

Participants are guided through the full wine-production process, offering them their winery and consultancy, but encouraging them to make their very own wine, to their own preferences. This ensures that the guest private winemakers take their decisions based on the same information as the vineyard, the only differences being volume, and the fact that they can do so completely care-free.

Visitors can visit for the day or stay at the vineyard. There are a variety of accommodation options both on the vineyard and nearby.

For families and groups there is Villa Escombar - a magnificent six bedroom villa with private pool, garden and sauna, located on the wine estate, or for The Vines Villa Suite is a good option. Each villa features one bedroom, one bathroom with walk-in shower, an open plan kitchen and living room, as well as a private terrace and access to swimming pool included.

The estate makes a great base for a holiday in the Algarve as it is located just a few minutes’ drive from all the main Algarve attractions - golf courses, beautiful sandy beaches, and historic towns with bustling markets, cobbled streets and castles.

Nearby Silves, Loule and Monchique are ripe for adventures.
