Reginald John Boman was born in Sydney on 4 March 1916 and attested for the Australian Imperial Forces at Paddington, New South Wales. He served with the 2/33rd Australian Infantry Battalion, and was killed in action in Papua New Guinea fighting the Japanese. He is buried in Port Moresby (Bomana) War Cemetery, Papua New Guinea.
