MANY WILDLIFE SPECIES Whitetail deer are abundant throughout the area with plenty of sightings availa- ble at Eagle and Wolf Creek. During the summer, the butterfly houses at Eagle Creek and the U.S. Army Corps of Engi- neers Visitor Center delight all ages. There is also a Heron Rookery, The Guzy Prairie and Pothole Area, as well as a Coneflower Prairie. The Lake also has designated wildlife areas at Wolf Creek and the Okaw Bluff Group Camp. West Okaw River and the Kaskaskia River are two Fish and Wildlife Management Are- as. The lake is home to Bald Eagles, tur- key, fox, Canadian Geese, several duck species, quail, pheasant, dove, raccoons, opossums, osprey, and pelicans.
