handling citrus and produce coming out of South America,” he says. “So this is a new market
for us in the last few years, and there’s a large market that could come out of South Africa on the produce and citrus side.”
Escalating Numbers
The same television news broadcast headlined “Georgia
named among Top 10 exporting states in 2020 for the first time,” went even further about the GPA’s — and Georgia’s —reach, with, as Lynch notes, 37 weekly services. The Peach State’s leading
trade partners include Canada, Germany, China, Mexico and
Singapore, the station reported, adding an interesting tidbit: Aerospace, Georgia’s second- largest manufacturing sector, flew as the state’s No. 1 export, nearing $10 billion last year; exports to Hong Kong soared 140% last year, the station reported.

exports neared $40 billion last year, with total trade topping $137 billion, across 221 countries across the world; one website,
