BUDGET BUILDER GUIDE

So you have an idea of how much it will cost to have your wedding. Does it come close to hitting your estimated budget?

If yes, t en mov on to t e next step!

If no, then ask yourself these things: ❈ Can I add a few more months or a year onto my planning, to ease some fi nancial strain?

❈ Are there some changes I can make to my vision/expectations, to help with overall costs?

❈ Are there some changes I can make to the guest list, to help with overall costs?

❈ Is there another way of earning wedding funds? (Ask other couples what they did!)

Remember: It is your responsibility to make sure your budget matches your vision. Asking for discounts, expecting more for less, or minimizing the services of your vendors, will not only limit what they can contribute to creating a virtually fl awless day, but it also devalues the work of professionals, who deserve their wages as much as you do.

The internet can be a great research tool, to get a basic idea of what you want and who to contact. However, a phone call, or in-person meeting with a vendor, can gauge if their personality & professionalism, meets (or exceeds!) your expectations. It’s not just about whether or not they fi t in your budget, if it’s diffi cult communicating with them now, it won’t get better as time goes on.

Book meetings with your top vendor pics, in the categories that you graded a 1-3, (in Step 2). Also set-up meetings with vendors who had the most competitive rates, for the categories you graded with a 4-5.

*This is where having a tentative wedding date is a good idea, because you can adjust it, based on your favourite vendors availability.
