INDI AN SNOB AFTERNOON TEA WITH A SPICY TWIST

116

With restaurants closing in tier 3 and dining out restrictions in place for the other tiers, many eateries have had to adapt and diners have also had to consider other ways of enjoying chef prepared meals.

Tina Thomas-Bassett this month enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea, courtesy of Sutton Coldfield based takeaway service Indian Snob. Meat based, vegetarian or vegan boxes are on available and are priced £45 (£40 for the veggie versions) for two people delivered in the West Midlands area.

The food box was hand delivered and the contents on opening the box smelt incredible - the aroma of Indian food really does make your mouth water.

We were so pleased that there was included a little menu card explaining the contents as there were so many little boxes and tubs and we enjoyed reading a little bit more about what we were feasting on.

Included in the box are homemade hot, savoury and sweet treats, with a variety of Indian teas.

Some items we were familiar with, such as the mini lamb samosa and the mini pakora, others were new to us such as the mini mooli paratha, so were pleased that the suggestion was to eat this with the plain yoghurt and lime pickle.

The desserts were all lovely, especially the mini Biscoff cheesecake and I must say I really enjoyed my first Indian chai tea while my husband tried the coffee chai. Both couldn’t be any simpler to prepare - just add boiling water.

This is certainly an afternoon tea with a difference - full of bold flavours and certainly a welcome one on a dull wet, rainy Monday afternoon. Everything inside the box was so neatly packaged and labelled, it’s just lovely to see the care and attention that has been put into making this beautiful unusual afternoon tea.

Indian Snob is available from 12 – 4pm seven days a week. To order email indiansnob@gmail.com or visit indiansnob.com
