T e health implications of the current COVID pandemic have seen SELECT’s welfare credit scheme become more important than ever, helping Member fi rms and their workforce when they need it most

N
o one plans to become ill or have an accident, but the unforeseen does happen. And the added threat of COVID-19 has shown how important it is to
have cover in place to protect employees. Living in such uncertain times, it’s vital to be able to provide some support when needed, and SELECT’s welfare credit scheme is designed to assist you fi nancially on the road to recovery. Throughout the pandemic, the scheme has been there for Members and we’ve spent the last eight months ensuring that those who want it have had cover in place for any sick pay or death claims that need to be processed. That peace of mind means that, from
April to the end of October, we have paid out more than £85,000 in claims for operatives and over £27,000 for offi ce staff for sickness benefi t. We have also paid out £180,000 in death benefi t claims so far this year, helping to ease the burden of those who have been impacted by tragedy.
