Broward County’s Port Everglades received three Super Post-Panamax container gantry cranes on November 17,

More than twelve years ago, the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) and Gebrüder Weiss launched what has become a successful operation: the Orange Combi Cargo (OCC). The block train has since been operating daily between Bludenz and Vienna, earning a reputation in the Austrian business world as a punctual and environmentally friendly transport alternative. Both contracting partners have now officially extended the cooperation, meaning that the Orange Combi Cargo will be connecting the west of Austria to the nation’s capital for at least another three years. The OCC will also continue making a stopover in Hall in Tyrol, where additional goods are loaded.


With the rapidly expanding interest in heavy-duty electric trucks, Hino Trucks and Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) have agreed to jointly develop a Class 8 fuel cell electric truck (FCET) for the North American market. The companies will leverage the newly developed Hino XL Series chassis with Toyota’s proven fuel cell technology to deliver exceptional capability without harmful emissions. This collaboration expands upon the existing effort to develop a 25-ton FCET for the Japanese market which was announced earlier this year.


FleetPride, Inc. has acquired the assets of TransAm Truck and Trailer Parts of Rockford,IL. The company was founded by Frank Carlson in 1989, who has owned and operated the business ever since. Rockford is a new market for FleetPride, and the acquisition of TransAm will give the company a total of eleven locations in Illinois.


The Nebraska, Kansas & Colorado Railway (NKCR), a line managed by OmniTRAX, Inc., one of the largest privately held transportation service companies in North America and an affiliate of The Broe Group, has received a $4.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The grant will fund the renovation of more than 100 miles of track in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado.
