Fundación ProAves has been active in


Colombia for many years protecting the most threatened parrots and birds in that country, including the Yellow-eared Parrot (Ognorhynchus icterotis) and Fuerte’s Parrot (Hapalopsittaca fuertesi). All its activities require community participation and support to succeed. This is most effectively achieved through working with children and an especially decorated bus has been used to travel the country to promote conservation and protection of birds. Bus has reached 2,148 rural schools and universities in 97 municipalities. More
