The Apartment Association Outreach, Inc.
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT By Jeff March, BRG Apartments, Outreach President
I can’t believe that it is already No-
vember … what a year it has been! Despite COVID-19, I have been heartened by the kindness and decency that I have witnessed from our membership, our multi-family team members and relationship partners, and our residents. I am incredibly proud of the finan- cial aid that we have provided to thousands of the most vulnerable in our community. Outreach 2020 Fundraising Celebra-

tion and Update: On October 6, about 80 to 85 donors to the campaign braved the
coronavirus and met up to celebrate our success at The Monastery Event Center in Mt. Adams courtesy of Towne Properties and Bob Wahlke. All participants responsibly social distanced, and I appreciate everyone’s support of Outreach and the willingness to celebrate in person … it was wonderful! There were meaningful remarks provided by Kurt Reiber, CEO and President of the Freestore Foodbank, who shared the tremendous impact our fundraising has made to help those in need during this pandemic. Our campaign continues, and as of this writing, we have raised
nearly $235,000. With your help, I am confident that we will meet our stretch goal of $250,000. If you desire to make a contribution, then please go to the Apartment Association Outreach (AAO) web- site (
www.gcnkoutreach.org) and click on the Donate Now button, or you may reach out to Susan Peck at
susan@gcnkaa.org or Patty Braun at
patty@gcnkaa.org and one of them will assist you.
Holiday Cheers Virtual Event: From December 3rd through
December 10th, the 23rd annual Holiday Cheers for Outreach will take place virtually. Please continue to check your email for details regarding free registration, setting up your bidding profile, and evaluating all of the incredible items that will be available for auction. The bidding will culminate on December 10th with live feeds for raffle items, Rapid Raffle cash and the live auction … you will not want to miss out on this online opportunity. I want to thank PLK Communities for being the Event Sponsor; the Holiday Cheers Benefit Committee spearheaded by Tonya Beckner with Miller Valentine Group and Gerry Johnson with RentPath; and I would like to thank and recognize Michele Klusman who is tackling the immense logistics on this new venture with zeal. Outreach Newsletter: I hope you are enjoying the Apartment
Association Outreach newsletter that is coming out quarterly. It provides greater content on our activities, our history, our philan- thropy partners, and how we are helping so many in our community. Many thanks to Susan Peck, Patty Braun and Kellie Jones with BRG Apartments for their wonderful assistance to bring this to fruition. Finally, by the conclusion of 2020, AAO will have raised more
funds than ever before, we will have contributed a record amount of financial assistance to our social service partners, and we will have positively impacted more people in need than ever before. During this time of Thanksgiving, I am reminded of our many blessings and how vital it is that we help others, and I could not be prouder of the GCNKAA membership and our response to this COVID-19 crisis. Thank you!
