Awards deadline just one month away
It’s September now and the summer holidays are behind us. Whether you braved an overseas trip or opted for a staycation, we hope that you have had a chance to relax and have returned feeling refreshed. Perhaps the break also gave you time to reflect on the amazing work that has been achieved this year in the very challenging situation that the world finds itself. As architects of the international transport and supply chain sector, BIFA Members have assisted in keeping the world supplied with the necessities and luxuries required by organisations and individuals as we have all played our part in suppressing the spread of COVID-19. With the deadline for submissions just one month away, now is the time to compose your entry to the BIFA Freight Service Awards 2020. There are nine categories open to BIFA Member companies covering the full range of forwarding and value-added activities. Additionally there are two categories for individuals designed to recognise outstanding apprentices and young forwarders, the stars of the future.

awards.bifa.org/enter-now for all the information you need. Select your category, download and complete the entry form (one form for each category entered) then submit to
events@bifa.org before the deadline of 11am on Wednesday 7 October 2020.
The categories are:
AIR CARGO SERVICES AWARD If your company has excelled in sending goods by air or you have a story about customer fulfilment where
logistics in the air is involved, this category is for you. Sponsor: Sponsorship Package Available
COOL & SPECIAL CARGOES AWARD
For 2020, this category has been expanded to include a range of cargoes requiring special attention throughout their journey. This may be specialist
refrigerated freight services ranging from small high-value pharma products through to a large reefer container to the transport of works of art and antiquities and live animals. Sponsor: Sponsorship Package Available

SPECIALIST SERVICES AWARD This category is for services that are not modal specific which could include warehousing, pick and
pack, technology service, air or shipping line agency, or express services. Sponsor: Sponsorship Package Available
PROJECT FORWARDING AWARD This category is for companies who have completed an out-of-gauge project or co-ordinated a
complex movement needing specialised attention. Sponsor:
EUROPEAN LOGISTICS AWARD
This category is for freight forwarders using road, shortsea or rail services to provide logistics solutions
to and from Europe. Sponsor:
Staff Development Award
If you have a comprehensive staff development programme producing the freight forwarders of the future,
this is the category for you. Sponsor:
EXTRA MILE AWARD This category is for Members that can provide specific examples of ‘innovation’ and/or ‘customer care’ by adding
value and exceeding their customers’ expectations. Sponsor:
OCEAN SERVICES AWARD
If you have used ocean services, either stand-alone or as part of a multimodal shipment or service, we want to hear about
something exceptional. Sponsor:
APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR This category is for those outstanding apprentices working for a BIFA Member to showcase the difference
the named apprentice has made to their organisation. Sponsor:
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT AWARD This category focuses on provision of a customer focused, innovative solution enabling a more efficient and
cost effective management of the supply chain. Sponsor:
YOUNG FREIGHT FORWARDER AWARD This prestigious category is for those outstanding individuals (under the age of 32) working for a BIFA
Member with a minimum of two years’ employment in the freight industry. Sponsor:
