1971 Challenger
Yeah its got a Hemi! Dodge made 71 Hemi powered Chal- lenger R/T’s in 1971 and although this is not a factory built Hemi car, it’s owner, Scott Frank made it into an excellent tribute car. With it’s perfect, classic Street Machine stance this car definitely has the looks, but it’s not just for show. For me personally, popping the hood on an old Mopar and seeing a real Hemi is very exciting and with the sound and look of this car it’s flat out energizing. I think my 71 Barracuda needs a Hemi. The factory Hemi in 1971 was 426 cubes and 425 horses, this Hemi is 528 cubes and a whopping 765 horses with 686 pound feet of torque! Let that twist your driveshaft! It’s also got a race prepped 727 automatic and Dana 60 with 4.10’s which gets it down the track in 10.74 seconds at 128 mp/h. At that speed, in order to be allowed to run at the drag strip, this car has been fitted with a roll bar and a few other required safety pieces. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
