Poly – (formerly Plantronics and Poly- com) has announced the appointment of Sofocles Socratous as vice presi- dent of sales, Northern Europe, effec- tive immediately. Bringing 18 years’ experience in the technology and com- munications sector, Socratous will be responsible for growing the Poly busi- ness across the United Kingdom, Ire- land, Nordics and Benelux. “Sof brings a breadth of internation- al experience and industry knowledge to enable Poly to lead the market in Northern Europe,” said Paul Clark, se- nior vice president for sales and man- aging director, EMEA, Poly. “He will be ensuring the delivery of the right solutions for customers and partners in the region – bringing advanced au- dio and video conferencing products together with device management ser- vices, as organisations reimagine the way they work and look to enhance vir- tual meetings.”
Socratous joins Poly from database management provider Bitnine Glob- al Inc. where, as president of sales & marketing, he was responsible for developing strategic and operational plans to support the business’ expan- sion across EMEA.
Prior to this, Socratous served as vice president of EMEA at Seagate Tech- nology for over 11 years, where he led the sales, marketing and business operations, focused on increasing rev- enue and market share with a best-in- class organisation structure focused
