National Endowment for the Arts and the Texas Commission for the Arts to apply for funding support. We are staying hopeful these opportunities will help offset the tremendous financial hit Chamberlain Ballet has sustained due to COVID-19. Q: What do you need for support? Chamberlain School of Ballet and Chamberlain Ballet needs for everyone to be mindful of how uncertain this virus is. I realize we are in this together and our future is unknown. My hope is everyone who values their teachers and home studio will continue to take online classes from their studio in addition to the free online classes being offered. Chamberlain Ballet

greatly appreciates all being freely given to the nonprofit.

donations If you

Donations of any size are needed and greatly appreciated. Q: How can DCNT help support you? The Dance Council of North Texas is a wonderful agent for everyone in Dance. Your uplifting articles and updates on cancellations are a wonderful service you are providing. Keep up the good work on behalf of many, thank you. Q: How are you coping during the pandemic? How I am coping during the pandemic? I am eating at home which is proving to be a much healthier diet

than the drive through habit

I had as a studio owner. I try to open my windows while working to hear the birds and sounds of nature. I am trying to get a few things done that I have been wanting to complete... but that list is still very long. All in all, I defer to my favorite mindset during difficult times...”This too shall pass”. Also very helpful is to live in the present moment. Q: Are you continuing to provide classes for students? In anticipation of not being able to continue with regular classes I and a small team filmed 36 hours of dance classes. Craig Cherry with JCV Video was instrumental with capturing the class in the utmost professional manner, Ryan Williams compressed the class footage and created a private YouTube link. My

Carolyn Cox sent all students and their parents a series of prerecorded classes late March. April 1, Chamberlain School of Ballet began offering online classes to our current students. The Spring Semester ends May 16th. We have a wonderful open adult/teen ballet program being offered in addition to our pre-ballet

- Advanced Professional classes.

Chamberlain School of Ballet online classes include instruction in: Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe,

Tap, Jazz, Modern, Creative Movement, Composition, Musical Theater Dance, and two separate Young Men’s Classes. Q: How do you see yourself coming out of this situation? After 43 years and passing through many difficult financial challenges, it is truly difficult to forecast how we will be after this unprecedented time in our history. I will say Chamberlain School of Ballet sees itself coming out of this situation with a grateful heart and with deep appreciation for the support provided by past and current families. My faculty, staff and I look forward to teaching our current students and welcome new students either online or in the studio. Sending best wishes to one and all...keep dancing!
