MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT ASCA 2020: Take a Deep Breath and Jump In A

SCA 2020 is right around the corner, and I hope you are making plans to attend one of the finest ASC educational and network-

ing events of the year.

This year in Orlando, between May 13 and 16, the annual ASCA con- ference & expo will be an event you don’t want to miss. For more about the schedule and the opportunities that will be available there, see the preview that begins on page 10 of this issue of ASC Focus and visit the conference website at ascassociation.org/annualconference. For me, this meeting means a time to recharge and focus on our industry and the advantages we can gain by attending this confer- ence. Each year, these conferences are a great venue for reconnect- ing with colleagues and friends, and this year’s educational sessions will offer some unique opportunities to pick up additional tips on the changing landscape in the diverse specialties ASCs serve. Networking at ASCA’s annual conferences always aligns me with

new ASC experts that I add to my list of contacts and get in touch with later as the need arises. At past conferences, I also have enjoyed the keynote speakers who come from another perspective in life but share insights and knowledge that apply broadly to the ASC industry and life in general.

One of the most difficult aspects of attending any conference is Seeking Authors

ASC Focus is seeking the contribution of articles by guest authors. If you have the expertise and time to write for us, we’d be interested in hearing from you.

Please see our editorial guidelines at ascfocus.org/about and submit your story proposal to smukerji@ascassociation.org.

keeping business in check while making the most of the educational experience and networking opportunities at hand. Maybe this year it’s time to put “do not disturb” notifications on those new-fangled gadgets we all rely on, take a deep breath and jump in. I hope to see you all at the conference in Orlando.
