BRUNCH ANYONE? YOGA 68

LewisLoves.com is a Cotswolds and South West lifestyle blog run by Adam and Sarah Lewis, sharing the very best the area has to offer. “Food is a particular passion of ours, and we can't wait to share our hidden gems with you. You can also follow us over on Twitter @adamlewisloves and Instagram @sarahlewisloves for foodie inspiration and much more besides."

As avid food fans, Adam and I are often on the hunt for the tastiest treats around, regardless of the calorie content. Since we became parents eighteen months ago though, I've been keen to focus more on feeding my mind, body and soul more healthily, and in equal measure. As you can imagine, I was particularly keen then to accept an invite to spend a Sunday morning with Cheltenham's Yoga Queen Sarah Jane (SJ) and chef Jay Halford for a morning of Strala Yoga followed by a nutritious brunch at Jay's newest venture, NR Social.

I began the morning in Studio 13 on Bath Road - a beautiful little studio with light flooding in from the large sash windows, and a cleansing carrot, apple, lime, mint and pineapple juice in my hand. A taste of things to come, this delicious juice made me excited for the brunch to follow. But first it was time to find my flow on the mat with SJ.

Strala is a Swedish word which means “to radiate light"; the concept was devised by Tara Stiles, once named “world’s coolest yogi” by the New York Times. A fusion of yoga, tai chi and shiatsu set to a great playlist, you can forget poses designed for Instagram because Strala is for everyone even if you can’t bend past your waistline. I have to say, moving gently through SJ's routine worked wonders for this ever so

slightly unfit, sleep deprived mama! I left the session recharged and feeling glowy, ready to tuck in to a nutritious brunch at NR Social.

Located on Cheltenham High Street, NR Social is the latest venture from resident chef Jay Halford. With a pedigree that includes the local Lords of the Manor Michelin starred kitchen, I knew I'd be in safe hands. We arrived to a delicious range of juices and smoothies, whilst big bowls of homemade granola, chopped banana, cashew nuts and pineapple sat atop a huge table ready for us to enjoy. This was followed by poached eggs, hummus and avocado served on toasted Nelson bread - utterly wonderful and the perfect way to refuel after our yoga session.

Stuffed to the brim, Jay appeared with yet more appealing (and nutritious) plates of food - stacks of buckwheat pancakes served with peanut butter, honey, pecans and banana rounded out our three-course brunch perfectly, leaving me feeling full to the brim, but in the best possible way.

If you get the opportunity, I definitely recommend joining SJ and Jay for their Yoga Brunch Club - you'll leave feeling refreshed and ready for whatever the week ahead brings.
