Fulkrum Technical Resources Breaks New Ground with Mozambique Contract

Fulkrum Technical Resources (FTR), a global provider of technical personnel specialising in QA/QC, inspection and vendor surveillance services to the energy industry, has announced a significant contract win in Mozambique, awarded by a major hydrocarbon exploration company.

Under the multi-year agreement, FTR will provide the ground-breaking LNG project with technical specialist and inspection services throughout the procurement and construction stages of the development.

Split into two phases, in-country and out-of-country, FTR’s technical specialist, subject matter experts and inspection personnel will support multiple workscopes including global supplier surveillance support throughout the procurement process, and QC surveillance during the execution of the onshore and offshore construction campaigns.

Brock Falkenhagen, FTR’s Regional Manager of the Americas, commented: “This is an outstanding contract win for us, and we are delighted to be working on this project to support the trail- blazing LNG operations in Mozambique.

“There has already been heavy investment in the development of Mozambican talent and workforce and we are keen to continue this positive progress. By 2022, Fulkrum’s in-country office will solely manage the project, employing primarily local personnel, which reflects the strategy to expand our capabilities in regions previously unexplored by FTR.”

The platform supplier will support the oil company for two wells. This is expected to take one year to complete. The operator will have options to extend the charter for seven more wells, which should keep the vessel busy for more than two years, not counting the original contract.

According to available information, the vessel has been in the spot market for a couple of months following the expiration of a term contract it had had with Allseas

The Havila Crusader will embark on its new contract within a week.

Furthermore, in a separate statement, Havila said it had signed a contract for its Havila Jupiter AHTS vessel in the North Sea.

Without disclosing the identity of the client, Havila said that the Havila Jupiter would start the contract in March. The contract is for a firm period of 70 days, with optional periods of up to 35.
