MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
Invest Your Time and Money Wisely, Join ASCA in Orlando this Spring
I
f you haven’t already registered for ASCA’s 2020 Conference & Expo, May 13–16, in Orlando, Florida, I encourage you to sign up today. If you register before March 13, you will still qualify for early registration rates. We know your time is valuable. That’s why everything at ASCA 2020 is about you and your ASC. You won’t have to waste time sorting through a program that mixes hospital and legal topics with your ASC agenda, and you won’t end up lis- tening to speakers whose expertise doesn’t apply in your center. Designed by a team of ASC experts who are actively involved in managing ASC operations day- to-day, this year’s program is jam-packed with sessions that address the key con- cerns ASCs face in 2020, not some outsider’s idea of what ASCs should be talking about.
As a bonus, this year’s conference is running at the same time as SAMBA 2020, the annual meeting of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia. Networking events will give you opportunities to connect with the members of both groups, and sessions conducted with representatives from both organizations will bring an added dimension to the discussions and information you will find there. ASCA 2020 is one of the best investments you can make in yourself and your ASC this year for many reasons. Here are a few: ■
A full day of sessions focused on innovation, including new procedures, insur- ance contracting opportunities and technology, will help you and your ASC pre- pare for the future.
■ ■ ■
Multiple sessions on ASC finance will help you make sure you are managing your business office wisely.
Introductory and advanced content sessions will target your special interests and help you take your skills and your ASC to the next level.
A cadre of regulatory experts will be on hand to help you with everything from meeting Medicare’s quality reporting requirements to what to expect during a Drug Enforcement Agency inspection or accreditation survey.
■
Sessions on topics like developing a robust infection prevention program and conducting a QAPI study will help you put patient safety and customer service front and center at your ASC.
Seeking Authors
ASC Focus is seeking the contribution of articles by guest authors. If you have the expertise and time to write for us, we’d be interested in hearing from you.
Please see our editorial guidelines at
ascfocus.org/about and submit your story proposal to
smukerji@ascassociation.org.
Last, but not least, there’s the ASCA 2020 expo hall. The time you spend there— in one of the biggest ASC-specific exhibitions of the year—can quickly pay for itself many times over with the new, more efficient and more economical ser- vices and technology you will find there. As we head into 2020, if you want to make certain your ASC is protected and prepared for the future, ASCA 2020 is the one meeting you need to attend. I look forward to seeing you in Orlando.
