Introducing Gael Focus’s new director
I am thrilled to have been appointed execu- tive director at FOCUS. I have always loved living abroad; this love began in the US when I took part in a student exchange pro- gramme, an adventure that gave me a sec- ond family of American siblings.
Back in Paris, I worked for an American pharmaceutical company where I met my husband. He was relocating to China and I jumped on this opportunity to move with him. I had the most interesting experience of my life teaching English to Chinese adults and helping Americans relocate to Shanghai.
Since then, I have always worked with peo- ple from different backgrounds and nation- alities, mainly helping them to communicate and work with each other. For this reason, I went into the language train- ing business in Paris where I managed a team of 30 language trainers.
I moved to London more than eight years ago and have fallen in love with this city. Helping international families with children settle in London was a big part of my role as

head of admissions in my previous job, so when I was offered the position at FOCUS it was an obvious choice.
Being able to adapt to life in a different country with totally different habits and customs is a big challenge. At FOCUS, we have the tools to transform this challenging experience into a nurturing, amazing one. Helping our members achieve a successful assignment in the UK is most gratifying. At FOCUS our members come from all over the world and we have a tremendous amount of experience, resources and ideas to make one’s work experience a fulfilling one.
I am pleased to support the FOCUS team in a new era full of change. 2020 will be the start of a brand-new FOCUS organisation offering tailor-made services to our interna- tional community and I am eager to be part of this exciting change.
