Losses Jeff Chase, 63, died September


19 at his home in Perryton. In addi- tion to being a cattle producer, he raised, trained, and showed cutting horses for over 40 years. He was known to be super honest and a great showman with soft, easy hands.


E.J. Holub, 81, Midland, died


September 21. The hands-on owner of ranches in Texas and Oklahoma also trained and showed as an NCHA Open rider. He’s also a leg- endary Texas Tech football Hall of Fame player, and has also been a Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer since 1976.


Amy Sellers Kamper, Bren-


ham, died September 26 after quite a battle with cancer. She was a for- mer administrative assistant at Still Creek Ranch, to which memorials may be given (6055 Hearne Rd., Bryan, TX 77808).


Ron Crist, 88, Hereford, died


October 10. The former Panhandle Cutting Horse Association presi- dent and member had NCHA earn- ings in excess of $150,000, and many will remember his success on the great Commandicate.


Highdrive Cat, Shane and


Jane Plummer’s sorrel NCHA Hall of Fame 2003-model stallion with lifetime earnings of $416,709, was humanely euthanized due to health issues October 15 and laid to rest on SDP Buffalo Ranch in Fort Worth. As of that date, he had sired earners of more than $4.7 million known winnings stretched between 323 earners. He was 2006 NCHA Open Futurity Champion and 2012 Fresh- man Sire of the Year. w
