WHAT’S ON A TASTE OF AUTUMN
Autumn brings its sights, smells and flavours to Ham House and Garden throughout October. See what treats the Duke and Duchess are having prepared for them in the kitchens as everyone celebrates the harvest being brought safely in. Bathed in colour, the gardens have produced a glorious bounty for everyone to enjoy. The pumpkins especially put on a spectacular display with everything from hefty specimens to the tiniest jack-be- littles and swan-necked squashes to the unusual Turkish turban.
The animals at Ham House and Garden are also looking out for their share of the harvest. Join in our children’s trail and help everyone find their food. This
trail is suitable for all ages with touchy-feely elements for younger ones while older children learn how they can help wildlife prepare for winter. The trail is available throughout October and half term when we will also be running afternoon workshops so you can create something to help wildlife at home too.
If you after something more spooky this October, why not try one of our ghost tours? Running Monday 21 October to Friday 8 November with family tours Saturday 26 October to Sunday 3 November (October half term). Spend some special spooky time together and have a have some thrills exploring Ham House and Garden after dark hearing about the many, many resident ghosts. From Dukes and Duchess to servants and soldiers, unrequired lovers and even a ghost dog there are plenty of stories to tell.
