[EDITOR’S NOTE]
Is there a lot going on in the lifting and rigging industry right now? Well, we certainly think so! If you take a look at our Industry News section in this issue, you’ll find more than two dozen headlined items that we’ve tracked down or received since our last issue.
Te action includes news hires, industry awards, new product launches, new distribution agreements, as well as mergers or acquisitions and some remarkable projects in the field. Take a cue from our cover photo which is related to one of those news items,
that section might be a great place to start reading this issue of our magazine. Among our Feature articles in this issue, we learn about JPW Industries and the people behind JET brand hoists. Te JET brand has a long history and serves a diverse user base, but the company is highly focused on delivering value against specific end-user needs for each of their products. We also take a look at the 2018 Lift Plan of the Year, as awarded by A1A Software to a user of their 3D Lift Plan software for projects completed in 2018. Te winner was selected from among six finalists by more than 1.000 industry professionals who took part in the voting. In the WRE Advisor, we are very pleased to welcome business consultant Howard
Lewinter back to the pages of Wire Rope Exchange. While his content is aimed squarely at people who own and manage businesses, CEO’s by shorthand, we think that everyone who draws a paycheck can learn something from his perspective. Earning money is the fruit of serving your customers well, no matter where you are in the structure of a business. And if you run a business, but aren’t sure your work is producing the results it should, it could be well worth your time to “talk business with Howard.” And in our Update, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association, more simply known as LEEA, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year. In celebration of that anniversary, 170 industry guests enjoyed a Parliamentary Reception at the Palace of Westminster hosted by Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon, to honor the organization. If you’re shopping for any manner of rope or rigging, please be sure to check out our
Catalog. We have done a good bit of housekeeping lately to make sure the products we show are current, and there are quite a few new products and some new members since our last issue. Tell them you found it on the Wire Rope Exchange. And as always, if you’re doing something we should write about, call or email me today!
