Parishwebsite Councillorswere updated on the options for a newwebsite and resolved that the clerk should create the website usingHugo Fox – a free resource for parish councils. Itwas agreed that the clerk should do this in her own time and be given a donation of £300. Café CllrHoy advised that a resident is keen to set up amicro-brewery and café in the village and this could be combined with a parish office and sited in the Sports Field. Councillors agreed thiswas an option, but there is still the access issue. Another sitewas also suggested. Snake bites Residentswerewarned to take carewhenwalking their dogs as one dog had been bi�en by a snake in Kingswood and another near Leeds Castle. Planters The clerk reported that the planters had been vandalised. Prickly roses had nowbeen planted in the one near the village hall. Councillors agreed that the plants should not be replaced in the one near the finger post, as itwas only the blooms that had been removed. Picnic in the ParkAsumof £161 had been raised, half ofwhich had been given to the pre-school,who have emailed thanking the parish council. The other halfwill be given to the Scouts.


Chart Su�on


Speeding Therewas notmuch crash data for ChartHill Road,whichwould be needed to reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 40mph. Traffic calmingmeasures would be a possibility, butwould not be easy to install. Parishionerswere urged to report all crashes to the police and towrite toHighways and Cllr EricHotson.A parishioner felt that the police speed camera unitwould be a deterrent. Li�er Itwas reported that therewas a lot of li�er on ChartHill Road. The clerkwas asked to contact John Edward to ask Maidstone Borough Council to carry out a li�er pick. Police report There had been one crime in themonth before themeeting – the theft of a van fromAmber Lane. PCSOGardner also reported on youths causing issues on land at Parsonage Farmland. OnewayAn email had been received from aDean Street resident suggesting a one way systemaround Forge Lane, Vicarage Lane, Lower Road,Dean Street to avoid lorries and large vehicles ge�ing stuck at the narrowpart nearNewCut.Members agreed thiswas not a practical solution, as itwould encourage speeding and large vehicleswould cause huge problems at the junction of Forge Lanewith Vicarage Lane. Flytipping Cllr Lloyd Porter reported the frequent textile flytipping at the junction of Wilsons Lane andGallants Lane. Apparently thewastewas left by residents for collection by the binmen, but the bin menwere leaving it as they did not have roomfor it. Defibrillators TheAlmshouses in Workhouse Lane had decided against installing a defibrillator, as theywere unable to find a suitable location and a power supply. TheGallants Lane defibrillator has nowbeen installed in the phone box andwas ready for use. Village car park CllrGlyn Charlton had a meetingwith RogerGough and County Cllr Paulina Stockell over helpwith maintenance costs for the car park. They are going to look into creating a lease for

Local plan Itwas said to be essential to challenge the formula being used byMBC in se�ing the housing requirement.Ale�er had been draftedwhich, once ready,would be sent toAlison BroomatMBC and copied toMPHelenWhately. GibbsHill Residentswere concerned about commuter parking at the entrance to GibbsHill. The clerk advised that evidence would be needed if thema�erwas to be pursued by KCC.
