There are times when we all need somewhere to put 'stuff' – a delay between house sale and purchase; during house renovations or extensions; sadly, sometimes after a crisis such as flooding when items cannot be left in the property. Why ever you need it, storage facilities can be a godsend! But do your homework first to ensure you find the right storage for your needs. Dependant on the circumstances and the type of items you are putting safely away, consider where the most convenient location would be for you. Perhaps if storage is only required for a very short period during a house move, it may be more useful to find somewhere nearer to your new home; however, if it is likely to be for several months during a house extension, then obviously the nearer to where you are, the better.
What are you storing? Are they items which can simply be put away and left or are you going to need regular access to them – that will have a considerable bearing on the type of facility you choose. Will you need access out of normal hours or at weekends; is the area well lit; what about ease of parking – you may have heavy items to manhandle in or out; consider the value of the items being stored and the level of security
offered...all this before you even ask the price! And when comparing prices, do ensure you are judging like-for-like.
