– U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on final Senate passage of the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which includes Kaine’s provisions to improve military housing and many of his other priorities for Virginia, including support for shipbuilding. While the Senate passed the national defense bill today, the Senate will vote tomorrow
on a bipartisan amendment Kaine sponsored with
Senator Tom Udall to
prohibit funds from being used for military operations against Iran without explicit authorization from Congress. If the amendment passes, it will be retroactively added to the national defense bill.

The 2019 Community Influencers’ Networking and Golf Outing on Saturday, June 29 was a complete success! Many people came out for a beautiful day filled with golf, delicious food, live jazz and networking.
The day began with an 8 a.m.
shotgun start. Golfers took on the Woods and Lakes at the Hamptons Golf Course. As the day went on, the temperatures rose with the competition. However, golfers were nice and hydrated thanks to
S.B. Ballard Construction Company, as they sponsored the beverage cart. After a fun-filled 18-holes of golf, players and other guests made their way to the clubhouse for wonderful food catered by Eddies Chesapeake Bay Crab House and Palm Tree Caribbean Cafe. Guests were able to enjoy live jazz performed by Saxophonist, Rick Elliot and Pannist, Brian Hunt.
