Leading laundry supplier CLEAN has appointed Myra Tourick as chief people officer. Tourick has been appointed to the role permanently following two months as interim chief people officer and will be responsible for leading the development of CLEAN’s 1,450-strong workforce. She will also help devise people and development strategies as well as create an overall HR vision for the company. Tourick joins CLEAN with over 20 years’ experience working in human resources management.
Gateley plc, the law-led professional services group, has made two promotions in its office in The Blade. The promotions span Gateley’s corporate team. Mark Metcalfe is promoted from senior associate to partner and Sarah Souter is promoted from associate to senior associate. Both specialise in private company mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments. Christopher Avery, partner and head of Gateley’s Reading office, said: “I’m delighted to announce these latest promotions. We have grown all areas of our practice considerably over the past few years, and appointed many new members of staff. These promotions are evidence that we have a very talented and hard- working team of people at Gateley plc.”
Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has promoted Christopher Rhodes and Chris Turner to group partner. Rhodes and Turner are members of the firm’s rural team. Rhodes joined Carter Jonas in 2014 and works out of its Oxford office. He focuses predominately on formal Red Book valuations of agricultural properties and estates for a range of purposes including secured lending, taxation and matrimonial matters. Turner joined the firm as a graduate surveyor. He provides management and professional services advice to private clients across Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Sussex, specialising in the strategic and day- to-day direction of rural countryside estates.
IBB Solicitors has announced two partner appointments. Harriet Jones, became a partner in the corporate and commercial practice on May 1. She joined the firm in November 2016 as senior solicitor and has been key to the team being recognised as a ‘regional heavyweight’. Jones regularly counsels corporate clients, financial institutions, management teams, and business owners on a variety of M&A transactions. In addition, she provides ongoing contractual legal advice to High Street banks. Miles Eckersley joined the real estate practice as a partner on June 3. Eckersley, who has more than 18 years’ experience in property and construction law, joins from DMH Stallard where he had been a partner for three years in its residential development team. He has particular expertise advising on social housing and regeneration projects across the south of England.
Reading-based property consultants Vail Williams LLP has promoted two advisers to associate at its office in Reading. Philip Knight and Jane Chamberlin were promoted to associate for strong individual performances in their respective disciplines of asset management and valuation. Knight, who has worked for Vail Williams for 15 years, specialises in property asset management service charge reconciliations, client account bank reconciliations and treasury management. Chamberlin, who previously worked for the Valuation Office Agency, is responsible for carrying out Red Book valuations of residential and commercial properties in and around the Thames Valley area for loan security, probate/matrimonial purposes and asset valuations.

Phyllis Court Club at Henley-on-Thames has announced the appointment of Chris Hogan as chief executive and club secretary. Hogan, who will take up his position on July 22, was selected by virtue of his experience in private members’ clubs as well as his track record in member satisfaction, people management and revenue generation. Hogan joins Phyllis Court from The Royal Southern Yacht Club where he was chief executive and secretary. Prior to his most recent role he was the chief executive and club secretary at the In & Out (Naval and Military Club) during which time he was also elected as chairman of the Association of London Clubs.
