elcome to the June edition of IMT magazine. Having now completed our fi rst six months of expanded metals production and processing editorial/ news coverage it is very pleasing to have had such great feedback from our readers. In late August 2018 we asked our readers about the specifi c

industries they operated in and the materials they produced or processed, all of that data was incorporated to our schedule for this year enabling them to not only read about metal tube/pipe production and processing but also strip and sheet metal. IMT remains focused on Metals production and processing rather than digressing

into plastics, as an industry metal is a product that is recyclable and rarely comes under the harsh scrutiny that plastic does. As an industry there is a constant fl ow of new ideas, whether this is reducing the energy consumption of production or maximising raw material consumption it is moving forwards. Anther trend coming to the forefront within the tube/pipe production arena is the willingness of producers to look at quality used/re-conditioned plant rather than opting to jump straight into expensive new plant (again extending the life of industry machinery). Looking forwards we have the end July - E – Newsletter (news deadline – July 22nd) and then the August issue - Inspection, measuring & testing, Hydraulic and mechanical presses plus Automotive applications for tube/sheet metal.
