Peter finishes a finalmarathon


ULCOMBE’S Peter Kerly took part in the LondonMarathon on Sunday (April 28) Afamiliar face in the area,where


the 63-year-old has been training, itwas his fifth time around the city circuit, but the first time with son Neil. Peter‘s marathon days began


after a radio appeal in 1997. He said: “There was an appeal


for people to run for Princess Diana’s new memorial trust and I thoughtwhy the hell not.” This time, the head of business

was hoping to go the distance in four-and-a-half hours and raise more than £2,000 for the children’s charity. He said: “I have run for some

THE newchief executive of Citizens AdviceMaidstone has been named as Paul Hardy. The appointment follows the retirement of Bonny Malhotra, who


leaves on June 20, after 21 years in charge of the service. Mr Hardy joined the bureau inMarch 2013, having run his own busi-


ness for over 30 years.Hewas initially a volunteer advisor at the bureau and subsequently became a full-time employee. MrHardywas appointed operationsmanager last September andwill


assume the role of deputy chief executive. Chairman of theMaidstone CAB Trustees, Rob Bird, said: “We are de-


lighted to be able to appoint Paul Hardy as our new CEO. During the last six years, Paul has demonstrated great understanding and com- mitment to the work of the bureau.” Mr Hardy said: “It is a great privilege to be taking over from such a


strong and inspirational leader as Bonny Malhotra. We have a great teamat the bureau and I knowthey are committed to helpingme build upon the bureau’s high standards and success.”
