e recently wrote an article about Spanish wills and Inheritance tax whereby we


explained how important it is to make a separate will for the assets in Spain. We also explained how to calculate the Inheritance tax aſter the Andalusian Government introduced an exemption of 1.000.000€. We all must celebrate now the fact that the new government in Andalucía has finally approved a Law (Royal Decree 1/2019) for which the Inheritance tax is almost abolished in our Community.

We say finally as it has been a constant request from all the people who own property in Andalusian territory. We have to insist on the fact that this law which has also implemented some other tax reductions, is one of the most important tax milestones in this Community over the last 40 years transforming the region in a tax- friendly environment. As an immediate consequence the majority of inheritors in our region will no longer need to pay inheritance when inheriting assets from parents or spouses.
