Besides Gettysburg, LLI offers programs at the Alamo, Normandy, Pearl Harbor and VIRginia International Raceway, each offer- ing different leadership lessons and team building opportunities.

The program is rolled out in much the same way at each of LLI’s historic locations. First, a leadership concept is introduced in the classroom. This concept is then brought to life using film clips and current day analogies from the business world. Then the program gets really interesting as participants walk the battlefield and enjoy a real “boots on the ground” experience by standing where life-changing events hap- pened, and decisions were made. Finally, the group returns to the classroom for a comprehensive debrief where attendees apply the lessons learned to their lives and careers coming away with real actionable items that they can implement upon return- ing to the workplace.

With more than 30 case studies available, LLI can help organizations grapple with issues ranging from positioning themselves for strategic advantage to managing dis- agreement to communication to branding. “We pride ourselves on customizing each team’s experience and addressing their spe- cific organizational needs,” said Wiley.

In addition to Wiley, who ABC News has called “the best speaker you’ve never heard of,” LLI’s faculty consists of former generals and admirals, retired Navy SEALs, award winning authors and historians, licensed battlefield guides, and a variety of other thought leaders.

“Our attendees are blown away by the cal- iber and passion of our faculty,” Wiley said. “Their ability to get participants to do the hard work of wrestling with the leadership concepts and how they can apply to their work life really sets them apart.”

“We feel we really offer participants both return on their investment and a return on their experience,” said LLI chief operating officer, Angela Sontheimer. “Standing in the shoes of past leaders and examining their leadership decisions, both good and bad, really humanizes both the leadership deci- sions made then and those which today’s leaders must make all of the time.”
