WELCOME to your May issue!

There'll be cake & celebrations at the Cheshire Farmart office as this month it's the magazine's birthday. 36 years ago the first black & white 12 page booklet was produced and we're proud to report that demand for the magazine is as strong as ever. In fact we were described by one of our readers recently as the local Farming Google! Take a look at the top of the following pages to see who’s sent us congratulatory birthday messages.

When leafing through those early magazines, I was pleasantly surprised to find that so many of the advertisers are still in this issue now. Great to know that with so many marketing avenues available these days, Cheshire Farmart still works a treat!

Of course you can read Cheshire Farmart online any time, but whilst the circulation of other printed publications is reducing, ours appears to grow each month. So do please spread the word & if you do pick up your regular copy at a livestock market or agricultural merchant, then just ring us with your address so that we can make sure it lands on your door mat each month. Conversely, if you move, or no longer require the magazine, do please inform us promptly of any changes. We're not mind readers, so if your parent died many years ago & you're still getting two copies, please do let us know!

Heading over to our social media pages we’ve over 4,000 followers in total now, which means that our advertisers are getting even more promotion and we can communicate with readers easily. Look out for our Facebook competition to win a toy tractor and other goodies from the 1st May. (Kind thanks to our sponsors at Rea Valley Tractors.)

This month it's the ladies at Mold market livestock café who have provided the Café Corner Recipe on page 25. The Farmart Experts on page 21 have some sage advice and the Community Notice Board continues to be busy. If you've an event or any news to promote in the June issue then please email the details to us before 17th May.

Finally on a serious note, please take time to look at the Cheshire Young Farmers PTO Shaft announcement on page 48. We've all heard about injuries on farms, so if you have someone visit your farm from one of the dealerships participating in the scheme, ask them to do a free PTO health check. Let's ensure that both Cheshire Farmart and the farmers who read it can celebrate many more birthdays to come!
