Meanwhile, the convenor of the Diocesan Electoral Board of the Diocese of Dumaguete on Friday called on political candidates in the May 13 mid-term election to shun violence in any form and instead, work together for peaceful and orderly polls. Msgr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela stressed that the Board’s “no” stand to the so-called 3Gs – guns, goons, and gold – remains firm, and in fact, “mas nahimo pa siya nga solid karon (it has even become more solid this time) because of the killing of Provincial Board Member Dungog.

Lawas expressed

She explained that one of the problems in her office is the current system slowdown brought about by slow Internet connection and outdated computers, among others. With the new LTO IT system in place, Lawas assured clients that there were will be faster and more efficient services because more work stations will be added.

With the two new additional engravers, the LTO Dumaguete District Office may soon be able to accommodate more applicants for driver’s license. Currently, it only has two engravers that print the five-year plastic license cards.

The other pilot area for LTO’s IT system project in Central Visayas is the Tagbilaran District Office in Bohol, Lawas said. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
